Birthday cards

This weekend, we had four birthday parties to attend, but we only made it to three of them. Here is a Curious George pillow I made and the monkey card to go with it. The photo is a picture of the birthday boy and my little Hayden playing on our tractor trike. The pink card I made for one of Natalie's friends who just turned 6.

Since you asked...

Sweetktea, here is the side view of the easel. It's basically just cardstock, folded into a triangle. I made sure to fold a tab up and glue it to the inside of the easel, so there are a total of 3 folds (one on top, one in back and one in front which is glued to the inside). Then I used the half round slit punch (the kind used in gift-card folders to hold the card in place) to support the Valentine. (you can see the punch on the front view) Hope that helps.

Ooooo, Que Romantica!

Here's the card I made for my husband for Valentine's day. I also propped it up on "table tent"/easel I made with the help of my slot punch.

Everything but the red heart doily is from Stampin' Up!

A whole lotta love on Valentine's Day

The photo is a bit fuzzy, but the greeting reads: "Sending a whole lot of love your way"
All paper, cardstock, stamps, ink, watercolors and tag punch are Stampin' Up! I also used Chrystal Effects to make the heart extra glossy. The cute background papers are from the Winter mini catalog available through the end of the month.

Packaging for Valentine Cookies

When I was first trying to develop my domestic "skills" as a newlywed (almost 12 years ago!), I turnded to Martha Stewart for inspiration. She continues to inpire me with her ideas. Most of the time I just absorb the ideas and hope I get the chance to try some of them. Well, as I was searching her website I found this terrific idea to package cookies in paper CD pouches. Brilliant! Hers were round oatmeal raisin cookies, but I figured it could work for Valentines as well. I think mine turned out just as good as Ms. Stewarts!
Front and back:

Swell News

I just ordered the "Swell News" stamp set. It came UPS on Friday and on Monday, my friend Jennifer told me she was pregnant! (I was the first person she told besides her husband!) I got the set because my sister Andrea is due to give birth to her first baby in about a month and my friend Bekki is also pregnant...so I figured it would come in handy. Here is a card I gave to Jennifer today.

Stamps, ribbon and watercolors are Stampin Up!; background paper is by MMI Colors by design (it's about 6 years old. I got it for a LO of when Natalie was a baby)

Handy Man mini Scrapbook in an "Altoid" tin

This was a stocking stuffer for my husband this past Christmas. It's a mini album of all the photos I took while he re-sided and painted our house last spring (before we moved). I ordered the empty tin from Oriental Trading. The acordian folded pages are also from Oriental Trading and they fit perfectly (only about half of the pages are shown.) I also put photos on the back side.

Manly-Man Thank you card

This is a card I made for Dan during the garage re-model at our house in Troutdale. The front library pocket has a tag in it with a message I wrote. In the inside, I "embellished" the word thanks with sawdust from the garage. (hard to see in the photo.)

All paper, stamps and ink are Stampin' Up!
