Last Day of Preschool

I found this idea from 2 peas several years ago and have been waiting to use it ever since. For some reason I didn't feel compelled to put this all together for Natalie's preschool teachers (although we did give them something else). I just loved Zander's teachers so much this year and knew exactly what I wanted to give them on the last day of school. Here is what the tag says:
You helped me grow from September to June
Our summer begins this afternoon,
When you see your flowers in this little pot,
Think of me and Forget-me-Not.
Although now that I read this again, I am feeling like a dork, cause it's still May, not June...oh, well. It's a cute sentiment anyway!

His teachers both like their gifts.

Here he is receiving his memory book (what a relief to have that completed!) I ended up making the covers too. I'm kind of a control freak sometimes and want to do things myself, but it turned out great. Each mom was responsible for completing 2 pages (for every kid in the class, plus the 2 teachers)...I did 4 pages (three plus the cover...times 12) It was a lot of work, but so worth it.

I love love love that flower pot idea!! Can I use it too?? How darling! What are those stick and how did you get the paper flowers to stick to them?
I was trying to think of what to do for Hunter's teacher, I think this is right up her alley. :-)
Thanks for the great idea!

The Memory books sound so cute, next time we get together I would love to see how it all came together. Hunter got one at his preschool too but the preschool teacher put them together. That is a lot of work!!!! I'll bet you're glad that's completed!
I know what you mean by wanting the book done just so b/c I am that way too sometimes about certain projects.

Thanks! Of course you can use the idea. By all means, these ideas are for sharing!!! In fact, one of his teachers told me she was going to make one for her daughter's teacher!

The sticks are just small dowels found at the craft store. I used hot glue to stick the flowers on.

I love the flower pot and poem! A wonderful gift for a teacher. And the memory books are such a lovely thing too! I have a scrapbook (uncompleted!) of my years as a teacher with each classes picture.

Great job, Alyssa. That cover looks mighty familiar. Kind of harkens back to your pre-school days when you got hooked on scrapbooking.

In yours, all of the pages were individualized for each kid (different photos on everyone's pages) which was nice but also a lot of work. The pages were done through the year as each event was finished. It made for less of an end-of-the-year push but there was still a lot of work to do.

I was one of the Photo-Moms. Of course we tried to make sure we had a photo of each child at each 'happening' but by the time we got the film developed (back in the darkroom ages - even before Costco) it was too late for a re-take at the Firehouse or wherever you were. I love digital cameras.
