Tooth Fairy Pillow

Today my daughter lost her first tooth. I was totally unprepared and didn't even know her tooth was loose. Tonight after she went to bed I started working on this pillow. Can you believe it took almost 3 hours to make? I had to decide what I wanted it to look like, find some scrap material, cut it out and sew it. Easy right? Not when you sew as often as I do...once or twice a year. I must have ripped out 3-4 seams before I got it right. Oh well, I am very pleased with how it turned out. The little tooth is a pocket for the tooth fairy to leave a surprise!

That is too cute! Do you remember getting a quarter for each tooth and then we would get bubble gum for loosing our top two teeth... that was the best! What did you get for her, it's hard to tell in the photo? I'm dreading the day that Brandon gets his teeth. He has been drooling a lot but it's too early for him to be teething right???

Well, I polled the moms at 2 Peas and a lot of them give $5 per tooth and others gave $1...but with 3 kids, $5 per tooth is a bit too high for our tooth fairy. Natalie got $1, a note from the tooth fairy and an extra big pack of watermelon bubble gum (plus the tooth pillow). She was thrilled. I doubt the extra money would have mattered to her at this point. Next time I am going tell the tooth fairy to look for those Sacagawea dollar coins and give those instead.

Growing up, we got 25 cents for our teeth, so where I'm coming from, she has it pretty good. Inflation!!!

How SWEET!!! I hope the tooth fairy in your neighborhood turns out to be more reliable than ours. Ours is downright scatterbrained. :-) :-) :-)

So...you just whipped this little darling pillow up???? Alyssa, you totally blow me away! I love your little tooth pillow. It looks store bought like at a cute baby boutique. Hmmm...you should sell these! Maybe I will just have to pay you to make me three of these little guys! :-)

Oh, I forgot to say that a $1 is just fine. I always got gum too when I lost a tooth! How fun! I can't wait til the "toothfairy" gets to visit here!
