Handmade Baby Gifts

I was so excited when my best friend went to Texas to adopt their baby boy that I wanted to surprise them with a few baby things for the nursery. I painted the star yellow and stamped the details with an alphabet set, applied glitter to the letters and attached a ribbon for hanging. The canvas drawing was a group effort. Z did the blue painted background and N did the drawing and wrote the name. For each of my kids, I have kept the newspaper from the day they were born. Since Anne was in Texas, I doubted she would think of this...so I got one for her and tied it up with a ribbon.

Oh, I wish, I wish that I had done that with the newspaper. Both DH and I thought about it but forgot I guess. How fun for them to look at later in life. :-)
All those gifts you gave to your friend were so thoughtful Alyssa. My favorite though is that darling canvas painting. OMG!!! What a great idea. How sweet that Zander and Natalie both contributed to it.

I am kicking myself for not doing one for when Hayden was born. Duuu!

I wonder if you could find his date of paper from the library on microphish (spelling?) or something? Do you know what I am talking about? Poor Hayden. :-( Just kidding. :-) It's that 3rd child syndrome. Hailey didn't have professional pictures taken of her until after she turned one. My other kids had them done like every month or at least every quarter. Oh well, he knows you love him just the same. :-)

Yea, I try to do the same for each kid, but it gets really tiring by the time #3 turns one. We do handprints at 10 months and pictures at a year...the other kids had their phots taken in the studio at 2 weeks, 3 months, and 6 months. I finally got in to get Hayden's pictures taken a couple days before he turned 7 months.

I think you probably could find them in microphish, but you may even be able to get a print copy from the Oregonian. It's worth a shot to give them a call.
